Mailbag: July 15

Dear Editor:

I have been learning more and more about how many state, county, local and school administrators are actually being paid a salary that is tens of thousands of dollars more than the state’s governor is paid. If you ask me, and hopefully the over-whelming majority of tax payers, “This is an absolute waste of tax payer dollars and probably one of the main reasons why taxes are so high and continuing to go up.”

As for the private sector of businesses, we, as citizens and consumers, have very little control over what companies pay their employees. We must rely on “supply and demand” and “the nature of competition” in order to determine what we ultimately pay for goods and services. Generally speaking, “The governing factors of goods and services usually will provide a reasonable price of what consumers have to pay”.

As for all, and I do repeat, all of the employees that get their wages and salaries from the American tax payers, “If these employees are not forced; if necessary; to be satisfied with much, much lower and reasonable wages and salaries, I say; tell them to clear-out-their-offices so that the hundreds of unemployed capable people will be given the chance that they deserve at a much, much more reasonable salary!” The politicians and bureaucrats that are now in office are forcing a situation that puts the American tax payer in an obligated state to pay higher and higher taxes just so these over-paid and grossly under-worked politicians and bureaucrats can continue to get undeserved salary raises. The public school system, in the United States, is the perfect example of students’ basic needs being ignored due to over-paying paper-pushing and unneeded desk-jockeys’ high salaries and perks!

We, the tax-paying people, must take back our rights to control these salaries.
