Top cities to escape to in Mexico
Mexico is a prime destination for Arizona students. Here are three of the hottest destinations south of the border to scope out for spring break.
Cabo San Lucas
The award for the highest population of students in attendance goes to Cabo San Lucas, more commonly known as Cabo. This place filled with sunshine and beaches is located on the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula. Every year, students from universities across the nation gather on its beaches. It makes a perfect five-day getaway.
“A lot of my friends will be in Cabo the same week,” journalism junior Danny Passovoy said. “USC and some other schools where I have some really good friends will all be in Cabo at the same time.”
This beautiful resort city is located on the Pacific Ocean’s Bahía de Banderas. It’s the perfect amount of fun and relaxation.
“Students should choose to go because it is an inexpensive and easy place to go outside of the country,” economics senior Michael Schrob said. “It has beaches, pools and tourist things to keep you busy all week.”
The resorts in this beach city offer an array of activities for all ages. Drinks on the beach included.
One of the most popular music festivals for college students falls over spring break this year. And the best part? It’s in Mexico City. Electric Daisy Carnival will have four stages with more than 50 artists, DJs and performers in attendance. The only catch is the price — $1,751 for a two-day pass.
Headlining DJs include Kaskade, Axwell, Bingo Players, Flux Pavilion, Avicii, Steve Angello and Krewella.
