Arizona soccer will play the National Women’s Soccer League’s Portland Thorns FC on March 28 at Kino Stadium.

The Thorns are the defending NWSL champions and are led by U.S. Women’s National Team forward Alex Morgan and Canada Women’s National Team star Christine Sinclair.

FC Tucson is hosting the game, which will start at 7:30 p.m.

“This game is a great opportunity for our team to compete against some of the best players in the world,” UA head coach Tony Amato said in a press release. “We are excited to play in the new stadium here in Tucson and believe this will be a great event for the soccer community. I know our players will rise to the occasion and compete at a high level. I want to thank FC Tucson for setting this up and continuing to help showcase soccer in our area.”

Tickets are $10 and $15 for seat backs. Section 106 will be the Wildcats’ official seating section.

“The players and staff are tremendously excited for our preseason trip to Tucson,” Portland Thorns FC head coach Paul Riley said in a press release. “It will give us an opportunity to enjoy a great climate, tremendous facilities and continue our extensive training regimen in preparation for our NWSL title defense. Tucson will provide a wonderful back drop for our team building and it will give local soccer fans the chance to see the Thorns play two preseason games during our stay.”

Portland will play ASU at 2 p.m. on March 30.
