Arizona men’s lacrosse continued its winning streak in Southern California this past weekend. The Laxcats (4-1) defeated USC on Saturday and Concordia University Irvine on Sunday.

This was the first live broadcast of the Arizona Laxcats. The 13-5 win was televised on The Lacrosse Network. Despite a few delays due to rain, the Wildcats were able to take the win from the Trojans.

On Sunday, the Wildcats played Concordia. Unlike the first game, there were few interruptions due to weather. The Laxcats were able to keep up the momentum from the day before and beat Concordia 17-10.

The first home game of the season for the Laxcats will be Sunday against the University of New Hampshire at Cherry Field.

Men’s rugby routed by California

No. 17 Arizona Wildcat Rugby played and lost to No. 2 California on Sunday. After coming off of a win from No. 16 Air Force, the Wildcats lost the conference game against Cal 78-7.

Despite the loss, head coach Sean Duffy was optimistic when he tweeted about his plan for the team’s next game.

“Learning experience but well re-focus and re-calibrate for UCLA in 2 weeks,” Duffy tweeted.

Arizona’s next game will be against the No. 8 Bruins on March 15 at UCLA.
