Hot

After a hat trick last week against Nevada, Arizona soccer true freshman Gabi Stoian has six goals in seven games to start the season. She is 22nd in the country in goals. The Wildcats are off to a 4-1-1 start.

Former Arizona quarterback Nick Foles led the Philadelphia Eagles to another comeback win on Monday night, beating the Colts 30-27 in Indianapolis. The Pro Bowler threw for 331 yards on 21-for-37 passing. USA men’s basketball beat Serbia 129-92 to win the FIBA World Cup where it went 9-0. The Americans have won four major titles in a row, the world championships twice and Olympics twice, and have won 63 games in a row.

Not

Arizona football is 3-0, but the ZonaZoo doesn’t seem to care. Despite gifts of Ray-Bans and Studio Beats by Dre offered as bribes to keep students at the Nevada game, the ZonaZoo was mostly empty late in a close game against a 2-0 team.

The NFL has suffered a black eye due to a slew of players racking up domestic violence allegations. Greg Hardy, Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson were benched, while the 49ers were criticized for letting Ray McDonald play.

Big Ten football’s painful season continued last week. On Saturday, Illinois lost to Washington 44-19, Purdue to Notre Dame 30-14, Minnesota to TCU 30-7, Iowa to Iowa State 20-17 and Indiana to Bowling Green 45-42.

Major League Baseball suspended Phillies closer Jonathan Papelbon seven games for making a lewd gesture and bumping an umpire. Papelbon gave up four runs to blow a 4-1 lead against Miami and grabbed his crotch area while Philadelphia fans booed him.
