Arizona football beat Washington State 59-37 to become bowl eligible. After missing out on bowls from 1999 to 2007, the Wildcats have now been bowl eligible six times since then.

Pac-12 Conference media picked Arizona men’s basketball to win the conference last week. The Wildcats were picked to win the league for the third year in a row and got all but one first-place vote.

Arizona women’s tennis senior Laura Oldham beat Portland’s Sophie van den Aarssen 7-6, 6-3 to win the black singles bracket championship on Sunday at the Matador Invitational.

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski caught nine passes for 149 yards and three touchdowns on Sunday. The former Wildcat caught a 46-yard touchdown pass in the Patriots’ 51-23 win over the Bears.

It was a rough Saturday for the state of Washington’s college football teams against Arizona’s. Washington State lost to Arizona 59-37, Washington lost to ASU 24-10 and FCS No. 2 Eastern Washington lost 28-27 to NAU.

Pac-12 media picked Arizona women’s basketball to finish 12th in the conference last week. The Wildcats expect to be on the “not” side of the spectrum again this year.

Arizona hockey was swept at home by Liberty over the weekend. The Wildcats have lost four of their last five matches.

Chicago Bears defensive end Lamarr Houston tore his ACL while celebrating a sack of New England Patriots backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. The Bears were losing 48-23 at the time.
