Cashier Savanna Graves explains what a burgerrito is to patrons at the BurgerRito food truck on Thursday. BurgerRito is the first food truck to have its own app and is one of the most followed Tucson food trucks on social media.

There are many food trucks around Tucson, from traditional Mexican cuisine to Jamaican barbecue. Here is a list of five food trucks worth trying if you have a taste for good food, great prices and speedy preparation times:

    BurgerRito

BurgerRito claims to be home of the original Mexican hamburger. This food truck mixes Mexican favorites with an American flair in many of its original dishes. Serving for breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert, BurgerRito offers sandwiches, hot dogs, burgers and traditional American cuisine. On the food truck’s Facebook page, there are several rave reviews on the food and prices. This is an excellent choice to check out if you have an adventurous palette.

    Foodie Fleet

Foodie Fleet is centered on delicious, healthy, organic food for Tucson locals. The truck was founded to improve the quality of food trucks in the area. The food truck uses all local and organic ingredients to prepare the simple dishes on its menu, such as its mesquite waffle, which uses Mesquite flour, Arizona pecans and a variety of Arizona toppings, such as prickly pear syrup. There are vegan and gluten-free options for every foodie that stops by.

    Planet of the Crepes

Planet of the Crepes is a food truck that specializes in, none other than, crepes! The food truck has a great crepe variety and was named Best Food Truck 2014. It has also been featured on the Cooking Channel’s “Eat St.” Another cool feature about this food truck is the option to text-in an order before you want to pick it up; the food truck will have it ready so you won’t have to wait. Additionally, there are vegan and gluten-free options.

    Jozarelli’s

Jozarelli’s is Tucson Italian street food for whenever you have a craving for pizza, pasta or a canoli. The menu offers 8-inch pizzas that cater to the classic cheese eater, meat eater or vegetarian. Another original to Jozarelli’s is its Italian fries. The menu offers delicious pesto, garlic or pizza fries for a delicious take on Italian street food. Sandwiches and Piadas are tasty options as well for a great price. If you like Italian classics on the go, Jozarelli’s is a great option that residents of Tucson can flock to.

    Isabella’s Ice Cream

Isabella’s Ice Cream truck is perfect for anyone with a sweet tooth and a liking for green energy. The business operates from a recycled Ford Model T car, and it uses electric energy to produce zero emissions. The ice cream is also made using only local and natural ingredients found in Tucson. Isabella’s Ice Cream is so good, stores such as Whole Foods Market, AJ’s Fine Foods and Maynards Market & Kitchen sell it by the carton.
