Smell you later

A non-UA-affiliated individual was reported for being unwanted at the Main Library on Feb. 11 at 7:59 p.m.

A University of Arizona Police Department officer spoke with a library information associate who pointed out an individual using a computer who was asked to leave twice in the last four weeks for violating the user code of conduct regarding hygiene.

The officer asked the man if they could speak outside. The individual said he recently had an exclusionary order from the library for hygiene issues but said he corrected his problem. The officer explained this was his third incident in violating the policy. The individual said he had been using the computer since 8 a.m. to complete his GED.

He said he did not receive any complaints from others around him. The officer explained how to request a review of his exclusionary order. A six-month exclusionary order was issued for all the libraries on the UA campus. He was given a copy of his order and left without issue.

Car jam

A UA student called the UAPD to report an accident on the south side of the Kaibab-Huachuca Residence Hall on Feb. 11 at 2 p.m.

The officer met the woman next to a Toyota Prius with damage to the front end of the vehicle. She told the officer she was its authorized user, but her parents own it. The car was parked in the Tyndall Avenue Parking Garage since 7 a.m.

A man drove the vehicle that morning. He said he parked the Prius on the third-to fourth-level ramp on the south side of the garage. He backed into the parking space so the front end was facing outward. He said he returned to the vehicle just before 2 p.m. and relocated it to the alley where it was parked with the damage.

According to the report, there was severe damage to the front of the car, center of the hood and passenger side. The front passenger tire was also flat with indents in the rims.

The man said he had not noticed the damage or flat tire, because he approached the vehicle from the driver’s side. When the officer questioned him about driving three floors into the garage and not noticing the flat tire, he said the vehicle “floated” when he drove it. The officer did not locate any vehicle or debris in the garage that could have been associated with the damage.

The authorized driver wished to participate in further judicial proceedings but waiver her victim’s rights. Photos were placed in UAPD Property and Evidence.
