Stolen master key

A UA staff member reported tools being stolen from a UA vehicle on Drachman Street and Cherry Avenue on Feb. 12 at 6 a.m.

A University of Arizona Police Department officer came into contact with the UA employee, who said he parked the white 2001 Dodge Ram pickup truck at about 2:35 p.m. the day before and came back in the morning.

According to the report, the man unlocked the vehicle and got into the driver’s seat when he saw broken glass on the front passenger and rear passenger seats. Tools in the vehicle were stolen through the broken rear passenger window.

The employee said the tools were hand tools, power tools and electric testing tools worth about $400. He also said the UA master key set located in the vehicle’s console was missing.

The man did not know the tools’ brand names or models and agreed to notify the UAPD if he found that out. He told the officer he would notify the associate director of Facilities Management regarding the UA key set.

The vehicle had no other damage to it when the officer searched it. Photos were taken at the scene and placed in Property and Evidence. Victims’ rights were issued to the UA Department of Risk Management Services.

A little too tipsy

A UAPD officer responded to a call on 1557 E. Sixth St. about a sick person on Feb. 14 at 8 p.m.

Tucson Fire Department paramedics showed up on the scene just as the officer came. They made their way toward the third floor and in the restroom of the residence hall. A UA student was found sitting on the floor in front of the toilet.

“I got a little too drunk,” she said.

She vomited on her shirt, and her eyes were watery and bloodshot. When she spoke, her words came out slurred.

The student told paramedics that she was at the Next Level apartments on 1020 N. Tyndall Ave. at “some sort of party” where she drank Four Loko and “some other kind of drink” given to her by a man.

She was unsure about all the events that took place but remembered her roommate found her outside puking and got her back to the residence hall. The woman did not want to go to the hospital, so the paramedics took her to her room down the hall. Her roommate said she would keep a close eye on her.

The officer explained that she would be diverted for minor in possession of spirituous liquor, and if she didn’t complete the diversion process, she would be under arrest. A Dean of Students referral was completed and sent to the Dean of Students Office.
