High-end contemporary fashion is something that’s often associated with big cities—not what comes to mind when one thinks of Tucson. There are a handful of places out here in the desert where one can find the high-end couture they’re searching for, one of them being (W) Boutique.

    (W) Boutique is an independently owned deluxe fashion store on the corner of Campbell Avenue and River Road. Owned and operated by Sydney Duncan, (W) Boutique has been a staple of the Tucson fashion community since it opened 20 years ago.

The store features a variety of different brands and styles, ranging from casual tops and denim to fancy cocktail dresses and strives to provide their customers with high-quality products.

“We want our clients to feel current, but have things that are beautiful and will last more than one season,” Duncan said. “We follow fashion trends, but keep things classic as well.”

Since opening the store, Duncan has functioned as the owner, buyer, manager, event coordinator and salesperson. The boutique’s 20 year anniversary is a testament to Duncan’s business management abilities and the store’s presence in Tucson’s fashion community. (W) Boutique not only sells clothing and accessories, but also hosts events of their own and partakes in others around town.

    (W) Boutique has participated in the last three Tucson Fashion Weeks and is thrilled to be one of the local boutiques asked to participate again, according to Duncan.

This year, Duncan and (W) Boutique will be exhibiting some of their merchandise at Etherton Gallery, downtown. Their collection will feature some hot fall trends including wide legged pants, animal print and classic dresses.

Duncan said she is excited for the show and has enjoyed working with TFW co-owner and creative director Paula Taylor whom she admires for her efforts to host this event to Tucson.

“We love fashion in every form at (W) [Boutique] and feel it is a fabulous way to express your personality and grace, no matter what your style,” Duncan said. “That is why I got into fashion and why I love it.”
