Arizona defender Brandi Park prepares to kick the ball on Sept. 23 on Murphey Field at Mulcahy Soccer Stadium.

Coming off another tough loss against No. 2 Stanford in Palo Alto, Arizona soccer found a way to beat No.11 California off of freshman Jada Talley’s 74’ goal on Sunday.

The Wildcats were on a three-game win streak heading into their road trip against the two Northern California teams. Arizona’s goalkeeper Lainey Burdett was credited for 11 saves on Thursday against No. 2 Stanford. Unfortunately, Stanford’s Jordan DiBiasi got one behind Burdett in the 66’ giving the Cardinal a 1-0 victory. Arizona rebounded Sunday afternoon beating No. 11 Cal when Talley scored her first goal of the season.

Arizona will host the defending national champions on Thursday, Oct. 5 when they welcome Southern California at 7 p.m. MST.
