ASUA candidates, election dates announced

Marisa Favero | The Daily Wildcat The members of ASUA come together on Wednesday, Sep. 13, 2017 in the Pima conference room at the Student Union to have their weekly meeting.

The Associated Students of the University of Arizona announced their candidates for their upcoming election Monday, Feb. 5. 

The candidates for ASUA president are, former ASUA diversity director Natalynn Masters, Stefano "Salt" Saltalamacchia, current ASUA at-large senator Anna Woolridge and Amos Sepkowitz. 

Shawn McCarthy will be running for administrative vice president against current at-large senator Kate Rosenstengel. Current at-large senator Matthew Rein is the only candidate for executive vice president. 

Matthew Hernandez, Rocque Perez, Anthony Rusk, Kelly Dorney and Tara Singleton will ASUA at- large senate seats.

The candidates for College of Social and Behavioral Sciences senator are Aten Morin, Bennett Adamson and Eric Roshak. Khenda McIntee and Michelle Mendoza will run for senator representing Eller College of Management. 

Two ASUA senators will be running as incumbents. Olivia Johnson will be running to retain her senate position representing the College of Nursing. Madeline Melichar will be running to retain her senate position representing the College of Engineering. 

Joseph Montoya and Ashin Katwala will be running for the College of Science senate position. Brennen Feder is the only candidate running for the college of Education senate position. 

Candidate deadlines are extended for six of the Colleges, those colleges are the College of Architecture, Planning & Landscape Architecture; College of Agriculture & Life Sciences; College of Fine Arts; College of Humanities; College of Letters, Arts, & Sciences; College of Medicine.

According to the release, Primary elections will be held Tuesday, Feb. 20 and Wednesday, Fe. 21. General elections will be held Tuesday, Feb. 27 and Wed, Feb. 28. Elections will be held online at www.elections.asua.arizona.edu from 8 am Tuesday to 8 pm Wednesday.
