Arizona volleyball traveled to Lincoln, Nebraska, on Friday to face the Missouri Tigers in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

After an impressive 22-10 regular season record and fifth place in the Pac-12 standings, Arizona’s postseason lasted only one single game, as the Wildcats were swept by the Tigers in three straight sets (17-25, 22-25, 18-25) and were sent back home.

Three seniors said goodbye to the Arizona volleyball program after the loss on Friday afternoon. Kendra Dahlke, Mackenzie Hernandez and Victoria Svorinic all parted ways with the program after four strong years.

Dahlke ended her career in seventh place overall in career kills in school history with 1,408, fifth place in 10 kill matches with 74 and fifth in 20 kill matches with 17.

Against the Tigers, Arizona offense hit a measly 0.221 on the entire match, while Missouri hit 0.412 on the afternoon.

Sophomore Paige Whipple led the ‘Cats with 11 kills on 0.355 hitting, as well as eight digs and one block.

Junior Julia Patterson ended her third season with her 20th double-double. Patterson had 27 assists and 11 digs on the afternoon.

That a disappointing loss in the first round of the NCAA Tournament ended Arizona volleyball’s 2018 season.
