Baseball: Maggi reinstated

Arizona outfielder Joseph Maggi was reinstated by the Wildcats’ head coach Andy Lopez on Thursday.

Maggi, who had been suspended indefinitely by the club for violating team rules, had missed the previous five games due to the suspension.

The junior will be dressed and ready to play if needed for Arizona’s upcoming game against Washington State on Friday.

Maggi is hitting .194 this season in 31 at bats. He had started nine games and played in 11 prior to being suspended.

The Wildcats open conference play with a three game series in Tucson against Washington State. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.
