From the wide receiver position, Juron Criner has gotten all the publicity recently in the city of Tucson, and for good reason — the UA’s all-time leading reception touchdown leader was recently drafted in the fifth round by the Oakland Raiders. But before Criner came to town and started setting records, it was former UA wideout Mike Thomas who staked claim as arguably Arizona’s best all-time receiver. Thomas, now entering his fourth year with the Jacksonville Jaguars, currently sits in first place in UA annals at receptions (259), third in receiving yards (3,321), fourth in touchdown receptions (23) and second in all purpose yardage (4,981). Former UA receiver Gino Crump signed by Bills
Former Arizona wide receiver Gino Crump said before the NFL Draft that he didn’t care if he got drafted or not and would have even been ecstatic to be the very last pick in the draft — known as Mr. Irrelevant. The draft has come and gone, and Crump didn’t hear his name called as the 253rd overall selection — a distinction that went to Northern Illinois quarterback Chandler Harnish. The Buffalo Bills scooped up Crump as an undrafted free agent on Monday, inviting him to their minicamp May 10 through 13. Full story
