'Cats grab series win against WSU

The Arizona baseball team redeemed themselves Sunday, March 25  as they came hot to the plate taking the series win over the Washington State Cougars, 9-2, at Hi-Corbett Field. The Wildcats were able to hold their winning home streak against the Cougars on Friday improving them to 10-0 at home, but then fell for the first time this season during the series on Saturday. Arizona baseball routs SDSU in mid-week showdown

In what looked to be a long night for Arizona, turned out to be a longer night for SDSU. The ‘Cats responded and were able to tally up their first 11 runs within 3 ½ innings. No scoring play was more exciting than Alfonso Rivas’ two-run homerun in the bottom of the fourth inning off Aztecs reliever Adrian Mardueno giving Arizona a commanding 8-3 lead.  Read more

Arizona baseball tops Bryant 4-0 in season opener

Until the bottom of the eighth both teams were able to keep each other off the board. That’s when it started to unravel for the Bulldogs. With the bases loaded and one out, Cal Stevenson dropped a floater into left field to score a run for the 'Cats. Alfonso Rivas then singled to center to score two more and the 'Cats were quickly up 4-0.  Read more
