Pac-12 softball boats plenty of top 25 teams

There are six Pac-12 teams in the top-25, with the University of California just narrowly being edged out of a seventh spot. The University of Oregon came in at No. 3, with Washington right behind them at No. 4, and following them up is UCLA at No. 5. The Wildcats came in at No. 7, fourth out of all the Pac-12 teams, and head coach Mike Candrea says that’s just about where they belong.  Read more

Dancing off the field

Tamara Statman, a political science junior and designated hitter for the UA softball team, has been playing softball her entire life and her passion shows in her performance. Over the past two seasons, Statman has batted in 46 runs, hit 6 home runs and in the 2016 season secured a .289 batting average.  Read more

Jessie Harper's maturity evident in her second year

Jessie Harper's maturity is as big an asset to the ‘Cats as any of her other tools. She’s been hitting with composure in the three hole this season. Also, she plays in the middle of the field at shortstop, so her teammates look to her to feed off of Harper’s body language.  Read more

The Arizona softball program hosted it’s first media availability of the season last week. Taylor McQuillin, Jessie Harper, Alyssa Denham, Aleah Craighton, and coach Mike Candrea all fielded questions, which ranged from the disappointment of last season’s early tournament departure, to the new faces in the program, to the graduating seniors, and the chess match Candrea is playing with the lineup. Arizona softball welcomes new faces for 2018

Arizona softball is welcoming in some new faces to the program, with less than a month until opening day. Head coach Mike Candrea announced the arrival of two transfers from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, redshirt senior Aleah Craighton and sophomore Alyssa Denham. Both Craighton and Denham are coming off successful campaigns for the Ragin’ Cajuns.  Read more
