Arizona's inconsistency causes loss to Washington State

After sweeping Arizona State in Tempe to kick off conference play Thursday night, Arizona volleyball remained inconsistent during the match at McKale Center losing to Washington State, 3-1. The Cougars came into the match with a record of 11-2, sitting at 0-1 in the Pac-12 after a loss to rival Washington. WSU started the match by taking a back-and-forth set one, 25-22. Read more

For years, the Wildcat volleyball program toiled in futility, often dwelling at the bottom of the conference standings. However, shortly after head coach Dave Rubio arrived, the program made a stunning turnaround. Rubio’s teams have gone to the NCAA tournament 19 times in his 25 years heading the program. Read more

The Arizona volleyball team’s 2017 schedule was released Thursday, June 15, showing a 31-match slate that will include 16 home matches at McKale Center. The Wildcats will play in 20 conference matches, and the Pac-12 Network will televise 13 of them. Read more
