In his first public appearance in an Arizona basketball uniform, freshman forward Stanley Johnson won the Red-Blue Game slam dunk competition and led all scorers in the scrimmage. He scored 17 points and grabbed three rebounds in 24 minutes.

Arizona hockey beat then-No. 3 Oklahoma 4-3  in overtime on Thursday on the road. The Wildcats have wins over then-No. 8 Liberty and the Sooners away from the friendly confines of the Tucson Convention Center.

Arizona women’s swimming beat Washington State 172-89 on the road to open Pac-12 Conference play. The Wildcats won 12 of the 14 events.

Junior Arizona men’s tennis player Jason Jaruvang beat Grand Canyon’s Adrian Legarreta 6-1, 6-1 on Sunday at the ITA Southwest Regional Championships. Jaruvang went 3-1 at regionals and improved his record to 6-2.

Arizona soccer lost 6-0 at No. 1 UCLA on Friday. The Wildcats have now lost two games in a row and have Stanford and Cal at home this weekend.

On Sunday, Chicago Bears players were heard yelling at each other in the locker room, and wide receiver Brandon Marshall publicly called out quarterback Jay Cutler. The Bears lost 27-14 to the Miami Dolphins at home.

Two Oklahoma State football players fell asleep in the drive-through lane at Whataburger on Sunday morning. Jhajuan Seales and Juwan Offray were arrested on suspicion of public intoxication.

On Sunday, KOMO 4 in Seattle produced a graphic about Peyton Manning breaking the NFL career touchdown passes record, but ran a photo of former Seattle NBA player Gary Payton with it. 7News in Denver tweeted a screen shot of the goof and pointed out that the Seahawks lost on Sunday.
