Hit and run

Two vehicles were involved in a hit and run accident inside Sixth Street Parking Garage on Nov. 10 at 11:45 p.m.

A non-UA affiliated man called the University of Arizona Police Department to report an accident he saw on the second floor of the Sixth Street Garage. As he was walking through the garage, the witness saw an elderly man back out of his parking space and hit the rear passenger quarter panel of the car parked behind.

The witness said he was sure the driver knew he hit the car. The driver quickly sped away from the scene but the witness was able to write down the driver’s license plate number.

UAPD attempted to contact the driver but was unsuccessful. No further information is available.

Can’t stay away

UAPD officers arrested a non-UA affiliated man for loitering near a school and trespassing at 7:31 a.m. on Sunday.

Earlier that morning, a UA employee saw the man using a computer in the Arizona Health Sciences Library and reported it to police. As officers came on the scene, they discovered that the man had a six-month exclusionary order and was currently in violation of that order.

The man said he knew of the order but did not know what it meant. He was then taken to Pima County Jail.

Mystery woman

Two UA students were arrested for minor in possession in the body at 12:05 a.m. on Friday.

UAPD officers were working Residence Life detail when they overheard a dispatch n the radio involving a student passed out in the back of a cab outside of the Arizona Sonora Residence Hall.

Officers walked to the residence hall, where they met Tucson Fire Department.

They were able to identify the student by the CatCard she was carrying, but could not find any information about where she lived. The cab driver told officers there was another woman in the cab but that she had left.

Officers were able to track down the woman who had left but she said she only knew the student’s name and nothing else. As officers spoke to the woman, they noted that she was slurring her speech and could not stand up straight. She swayed back and forth and had red, watery eyes with smeared mascara.

She was arrested, cited and released for minor in possession in the body. The officers then went back to the student laying in the cab and determined that she would need to be taken to the University of Arizona Medical Center for extreme intoxication.

Code of conduct forms were sent on behalf of both students to the Dean of Students Office.
