What goes around, comes around

A UA student called the University of Arizona Police Department to report receiving threats from a woman at an off-campus party on Feb. 12 at approximately 10:15 p.m.

The student said she had problems with the woman before. She said she had stayed with her boyfriend in the Kaibab-Huachuca Residence Hall, and on Feb. 7, the student awoke to find the woman standing in the room with another woman.

The student’s boyfriend told the two women to leave, and they both giggled and left. The room was not locked, so the women could enter without force.

The student had issues with the women at previous off-campus parties, too. She claimed that the woman threatened to punch her in the face and two other students had to restrain her from doing so.

The student said she is not the fighting type and just wanted to be left alone. She also had no idea why the woman was always so aggressive and angry. She claimed to have told the woman on several occasions to leave her alone.

The officer advised her of the Injunction Against Harassment option and informed her that he would speak with the woman. Both of the women were advised to avoid any more confrontation and to end all communication between one another.

Puff, puff and away

A UA student and another individual were caught smoking marijuana in a dorm room on Feb. 11 at approximately 10:15 p.m.

A UAPD officer responded to a call about marijuana at Árbol de la Vida Residence Hall.

The officer could smell a slight odor of burnt marijuana from the door that the call mentioned and knocked on it.

A college-aged male opened the door; he was with a UA student. The student refused to talk to the officer when asked.

The student’s roommate arrived, and the officer asked him to give him anything in the room that had marijuana in it. The roommate agreed. With the roommate’s consent, the officer searched the room.

He handed the officer a multi-colored glass pipe. The officer found a red metal grinder, a silver metal grinder with a scorpion on top, a glass bong, multiple used marijuana baggies and a medical marijuana jar in a nightstand.

The roommate said he only smoked marijuana one to two times daily. The first student said he smoked two or three times a week. Neither of them showed any signs of impairment.

The roommate was diverted to the Dean of Students Office for possession of drug paraphernalia. The items found were seized as evidence.
