UA track and field assistant arrested on domestic violence charges

Arizona track and field assistant Craig Carter was arrested last Friday on domestic violence charges and the Arizona Daily Star announced on Wednesday Carter waved his Miranda rights and admitted to stalking, threatening and assaulting a track student-athlete he was having a relationship with.

Carter allegedly threatened the student-athlete with a box cutter, choked and stalked her, and attempted to drag the student-athlete he had been seeing for 2 1/2 years out of a classroom.

According to the Daily Star, police investigators uncovered 57 texts and emails Carter
sent to the student-athlete between April 26 and May 1, four of which
contained threatening statements.

Carter faces three domestic violence charges (aggravated assault with a deadly
weapon, threats and intimidation with injury and damage to property,
stalking with fear of physical injury or death upon another) and an
interfering with an educational institution charge, according to the Daily Star
