For a little more than two quarters, it appeared that Arizona would drop a heartbreaker on the road against Colorado.

That is, until Jerrard Randall provided the spark that the Wildcats would need, defeating the Buffaloes 38-31 Saturday night in Boulder, Colo.

Jared Baker had a career day with 207 yards rushing on 23 carries and two touchdowns. Randall rushed for 81 yards on 11 attempts. Solomon threw for 283 yards and two touchdowns.

But it was truly the fourth quarter that provided the spark. The defense came alive. The offense suddenly hit their stride. The special teams pinned Colorado on the one-yard line. Arizona football head coach Rich Rodriguez was animate on the sidelines. Sounds like the fourth quarter the Wildcats needed to edge Colorado.

Players of the Game:

Offense—Jerrard Randall: 81 yards rushing, 11 attempts, 3-3 passing attempts

Defense—Jake Matthews: first starter at LB two games in a row this season, 11 total tackles

Special Teams—Casey Skowron: touchdown-saving tackle, 1-2 field goals including 48-yarder
