George Cunningham of Arizona men’s golf follows his shot Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015. The Wildcats trail in the Arizona Intercollegiate after day one.

After play was suspended due to darkness, the Arizona men’s golf team finds itself in eighth place tied with Iowa State at the Arizona Intercollegiate at Sewailo Golf Club in Tucson.

Windy conditions made scoring difficult but Arizona junior George Cunningham held on to the top ten on the leaderboard in sixth place shooting a four over early on. Freshman David Laskin, from Elk Grove, California, sits in 32nd place while leading returner Jordan Gumberg struggled and placed in 44th place.

The tournament is the Wildcats first match of the second semester as they face fierce competition from top ranked teams such as No. 22 Oregon who is the overall team leader on the day thus far and also has the individual lead with redshirt senior Wyndham Clark who shot a one under on the day.

Play will resume tomorrow at Sewailo Golf Club with the first tee time set for 7:45 a.m.
