Arizona’s Kobi Simmons warms up with a between the legs dunk before the Arizona – North Dakota game on Thursday, March 16.

Arizona freshman Kobi Simmons declared for the NBA Draft on Tuesday per a statement from the Arizona basketball program.

In his lone season at Arizona, Simmons averaged 8.7 points and 2.0 assists per game. He appeared in 37 games, starting in 19 of them.

“Kobi Simmons, with the support of his family, has decided to declare for the 2017 NBA Draft,” said Arizona head coach Sean Miller. “All of us here at Arizona thank him for his freshman season and wish him continued success as he pursues his professional career.”

Simmons becomes the second “one-and-done” player from the Wildcats team this season joining teammate Lauri Markkanen.

“I have enjoyed my time at Arizona very much,” said Simmons. “I would like to thank my teammates, coaches and our great fans for their support and effort in making my year truly a special one. Bear Down.”

According to nbadraft.net, Simmons is a mid-second round pick and the site has him going 43rd overall to the Miami Heat.
