The magic continues for the Arizona women’s golf team. After almost not having a season, they find themselves as one of the last eight teams remaining with a shot to win the national championship. After 72 holes of stroke play, the team shot a +21 1173. The Wildcats would finish tied for seventh with Arizona State. Of the top eight teams to advance to match play, three are from the PAC-12 (Arizona, Arizona Sate and Stanford). Stanford will be the one seed heading into match play after shooting a team score of -10 1142.

Arizona will be playing Stanford in the first round of match play. The rest of the matchups and the individual and team scoreboard can be found on the NCAA website. Head coach Laura Ianello has done a remarkable job this year with her team. You can tell from this video posted by the team’s Twitter just how proud Ianello is.

Arizona will be an underdog heading into match play against Stanford. With that said, do not be surprised if they pull the upset. We forget just how talented this team is, and they still have not reached their full potential. Plus, match play is a whole different style. Not only are you playing the course, but you are playing the other person. Arizona’s match with Stanford is scheduled to kick off on Tuesday, May 25 at 7:10 a.m. MST at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona.
