On Tuesday the Pac-12 Conference announced that Arizona senior women’s tennis’ Kim Stubbe was named conference Player of the Week.
Stubbe received the honor after winning both of her singles and doubles matches in straight-sets. This is her first Pac-12 Player of the Week Award and Arizona’s first of the year.
Stubbe won all three of her matches in straight sets last week.
“This is a well-deserved honor for Kim,” head coach Vicky Maes said in a press release. “She puts so much of herself in the team and her enthusiasm in practice and matches in incredibly contagious.”
In Arizona’s upset of No. 28 Washington in Seattle, she beat Grace Ysidora, 6-2, 6-2, and won her doubles match with freshman Lauren Marker 8-4.
Before that, she won her match against Seattle’s Anna Lambert, 6-1, 6-0.
“She has been a consistent force for the Cats,” Maes said. “I’m really happy the conference is recognizing her.”
