Arizona golfer named to All-Pac-12 First Team

Arizona men’s golf received two Pac-12 Conference honors this week.

Senior Erik Oja was named to the All-Pac-12 First Team while junior Alex McMahon received honorable mention selection.

“It feels good to have two players from our conference recognized for individual performance,” head coach Jim Anderson said in a press release. “Erik’s year has been nothing short of phenomenal, especially when you look at the fact he has finished 13th or better in each of the 12 events we played. Alex just kept competing and improving this year, and we are very proud of him.”

Oja is ranked No. 54 in the country. He finished 13th or better in all of the tournaments this season. The Sweden native was also recently named to the Palmer Cup’s European team.

“Erik is very deserving of first team,” Anderson said. “Maybe because our team has had ups and downs, he hasn’t received as much individual attention. But it is very difficult to ignore the body of work he has assembled, especially when you consider the consistency he demonstrated.”
