Public Enemy No. 1: Dillinger Days at Hotel Congress
Hotel Congress and the city of Tucson relive the Hotel Congress Incident and the historic capture of Public Enemy No. 1, John Dillinger, at the 81st anniversary of Dillinger Days on January 24. The event featured three dramatized reenactments of the capture of John Dillinger put on by Hotshot Productions, an extensive vintage car show, authentic 1930's attire worn by both actors and attendees, local artisans and vendors selling unique items, carnival games, live musical groups like Desert Melodies and The Awkward Moments, magic shows with Magic Kenny Stewart, and a walking historic tour of downtown Tucson.
Jazz Noir
Members of the Dmitri Matheny jazz ensemble play a set entitled Jazz Noir at Hotel Congress as a part of the Tucson Jazz fest on Sunday, Jan. 18th. The festival runs from the 16th to the 28th and features music from local and out of town jazz acts at different venues throughout Tucson.

Comix It Up
Maker House and Tucson Comic Con join forces to put on Comix It Up! at the Maker House on Saturday, Jan. 17. This monthly Mini-Con-Mixer event is an opportunity for local artists and vendors to display and sell their work to the Tucson community. People from all over Tucson of all ages cosplay, peruse art and comics, eat food prepared by the Maker House, and play vintage arcade games.

Tucson Songwriter Showcase
In the 15th installment of the Tucson Songwriter Showcase, an array of nine local folk, blues, and country musicians performed at Monterey Court on January 14. Performers included Whiskey Dog Kenny Williams, Denise Lane, Dal Hodges, Ron Pandy, Beth Fitchet Wood, Don Armstrong, Marilyn Ryan, Bob Nible, Vicky Smith, and Eric Hansen.

In solidarity with recent movements around the country, traffic-halting protests against police brutality and the Eric Garner grand jury decision occurred on UA campus earlier in the day of Dec. 5 and began again later in the evening downtown at the Ronstadt Transit Center.
