That's right, I said it. I'm not talking about how Hollywood keeps recycling the same movies. Seriously, film studios and producers, I've already seen ""The Karate Kid"" and ""Clash of the Titans,"" and you know what, they were all freaking awesome, so just stop.

Recently, renting textbooks has become a cheaper way for students strapped for cash to obtain the books for courses.

There's something about the term binge drinking that makes students imagine a Greek party or tailgate, and parents want to home school their kids right through college. What most people don't realize is that binge drinking isn't usually what you think it is and more people are binge drinkers than you would imagine.

With all the hubbub about health care, especially the PricewaterhouseCoopers' Health Research Institute study on how much money is wasted — $1.2 trillion each year — I started thinking about the future of health care and ways to rein in useless spending.

Did you know that you can major with a focus in race track industry at the UA? What is that? You can major in history, women's studies, psychology, physics and other ridiculous and unnecessary topics. It's time we introduce a major that will be more useful to people in the real world: fantasy football.

Isn't it interesting how residency affects a student's status? I'll use this semester as an example. As a resident, I'm paying $3,427.56, but as a non-resident, I'd have to pay $11,132.06, a difference of $7,702.50 — an amount that garners sympathy for out-of-state students.

I'm pretty sure it's not just me, but just in case, has anyone else noticed the ever-changing parking format at the UA?

I can't remember exactly when it began, but lately the University of Arizona seems to be cracking down on absences and enforcing much stricter attendance and punctuality policies than before.

Just last month, Mexico's Senate passed a law that decriminalized small amounts of drugs for personal use in an effort to stem the flood of costly, and often unsuccessful, criminal drug prosecution, as well as to focus the efforts of law enforcement on the large producers and distributors.

In case you didn't know, GQ just released a list of the ""25 Douchiest Colleges"" in America. First the good news: the UA did not specifically make the list. Now the really good news: Arizona State University was ranked number 14. Finally, the bad news: the UA did get a not so ""honorable mention"" under ASU's category — ""Duke, any state school in Florida or Arizona, U. of Delaware, Dartmouth.""

In response to my esteemed colleague Remy Albillar's assertion, printed Friday, that people in the service industry aren't, ""automatically entitled to a personal donation that is in proportion to the amount of money I'm already spending,"" I must state that I emphatically do not agree. The phrase describing waiters, baristas, car washers, etc. as, ""People expecting patrons to empty their pockets for low effort service,"" is the most erroneous. I mean … seriously? Spoken like someone who has obviously never worked for tips in his life.

So how does it feel to have a celebrity for a President? Obama certainly is one, and his charisma definitely doesn't hurt, but it's the media that creates a celebrity, and they've done a tremendous job.
