It was a rebuilding year for Arizona volleyball. The Wildcats lost four seniors from last year and head coach Dave Rubio’s 2012 roster boasted 10 new players, seven of which were new to Division I volleyball.

Arizona volleyball is 14-13 overall and 6-10 in Pac-12 after this past weekend. The Wildcats played Oregon State on Friday night and took the match to five sets, winning 3-2 against the Beavers. Oregon swept Arizona in the Saturday night game 3-0.

Arizona is coming off an up-and-down weekend with a highlight win over No. 6 UCLA last week and a close loss against No. 5 USC. This weekend, the team will go to Oregon to take on Oregon State on Friday at 6 p.m. and No. 4 Oregon on Sunday at 7 p.m.

Arizona head volleyball coach Dave Rubio has stressed all season how important effective practices are to his team’s ability to succeed on the court. It wasn’t until well into the season that he said his team was finally on the right track. The Wildcats are currently 13-12 overall and 5-9 in the Pac-12.

The Arizona volleyball team came close to upsetting two ranked teams this weekend but dropped the fourth set in an afternoon showdown with No. 6 USC. The 1-3 (22-25, 25-23, 20-25, 23-25) loss came after the Wildcats upset defending national

Arizona volleyball played Friday night in McKale Center against visiting UCLA. The team looked more comfortable than ever as the offense managed to keep the Bruins at bay, 3-0 (25-22, 25-16, 26-24).
