Q&A with Lori Wiest, new director of the UA Fred Fox School of Music

From her childhood years into adulthood, Lori Wiest has been surrounded by music. Now, she has been appointed the new director of the University of Arizona’s Fred Fox School of Music starting on July 1. Part of Wiest's personal music education occurred at the UA. Thirty years ago, Wiest received her doctorate in choral conducting from the UA. In addition, Wiest also has a master's degree in choral music from Arizona State University and a bachelor's in music education and piano performance from North Dakota State University. Read more

'Cats grab series win against WSU

The Arizona baseball team redeemed themselves Sunday, March 25  as they came hot to the plate taking the series win over the Washington State Cougars, 9-2, at Hi-Corbett Field. The Wildcats were able to hold their winning home streak against the Cougars on Friday improving them to 10-0 at home, but then fell for the first time this season during the series on Saturday. GymCats fall to LSU in final meet of the season

Tumbling, flipping and twisting isn't over yet for the Arizona gymnastics team despite their regular season coming to an end Saturday afternoon after falling short to the LSU Tigers, 198.125 to 195.525. The Wildcats finish their season with an overall record of 2-9, but even with the lack of wins Arizona hit many new career and season highs throughout the season.  Read more
