Aari Mcdonald wins Ann Meyers Drysdale Award

Aari McDonald’s impressive season continues to be recognized as she was named the winner of the Ann Meyers Drysdale Award on Monday by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, and she becomes the first player in school history to win one of the five positional awards. Read more

Arizona women’s basketball concludes regular season with No. 4 Stanford and Cal

Arizona has been consistent all season until this past weekend, where the team ran into a road bump losing Aari McDonald for their road trip against Utah and Colorado. They defeated Utah handedly and dropped a brutal game to Colorado 50-38. The Buffaloes went on a 15-0 run to finish off the game and Arizona did not score in the final three minutes. Sam Thomas balled out for the Wildcats and dropped a career-high 31 points Friday against Utah. Sunday against Colorado was a different story, as she dropped 7 points shooting 2-for-9. Read more

Arizona women's basketball rebounds from Oregon loss to take down No. 9 Oregon State

After getting dismantled against Oregon on Friday night, Arizona women's basketball rallied from a seven-point deficit in the second half to win 65-58 in overtime against Oregon State. This was its first win over a top-10 team on the road. The Wildcats improved from their sluggish night in Eugene with an impressive defensive display. Oregon State had 14 turnovers and completely fell apart at the end of the game.  Read more

Analysis: Hazzard heats up as Arizona ends losing streak

Arizona routed Utah 93-77 on a night where Zeke Nnaji was his normal self, but Max Hazzard showed who he can be. The grad transfer finding his rhythm, a new starting lineup and our first look at James Akinjo were some of the things that stood out following the victory. Read more

Police Beat 12/4/2019: Shots for shots

These were not the sorts of shots students are known for taking on the basketball court. Two University of Arizona Police Department officers arrived at the Campus Recreation Center at around 8 p.m. on Nov. 14 after receiving reports of students drinking alcohol at the Rec Center’s basketball court.
