Four stats that defined Arizona football's loss to UCLA

Due to the absence of Khalil Tate, Arizona and it’s offense has been slightly limited in the passing game. Yet, the Wildcats, who have led the Pac-12 in rushing the last two years, rode their two horses in running backs JJ Taylor and Gary Brightwell all the way to the brink of victory. Combining for 275 rushing yards as both runners eclipsed the century mark, with the two Wildcats both averaging exactly 8.1 yards per carry, gashing the Bruins defense all night.   Read more

Arizona football loses heartbreaker to UCLA, drops to 3-5

LOS ANGELES – UCLA and Arizona, two of the cellar dwellers in the Pac-12 South, squared off in the historic venue in front of a half-full stadium. The Bruins came out on top with a score of 31-30, moving to 2-5 on the season as Arizona head coach Kevin Sumlin suffered his second-consecutive one-point loss to UCLA in the Rose Bowl, going back to his time at Texas A&M. The Wildcats now fall to 3-5, and their dreams of going bowling in December took a major hit on Saturday night.  Read more

Skinner's Winners: Week seven picks

UCLA is coming off a 30-point win over Cal, which showed encouraging signs in a season that has shown few and far in between for UCLA. Arizona is coming off a humiliating display against Utah, but have had an extra day of rest and preparation than the Bruins do. This spread seems fair, especially with the absence of Khalil Tate, as Vegas is banking on the Arizona offense to be just as anemic as they were in Salt Lake. I think those guys know what they are doing. I’m hedging my feelings and going with Bruins -9.5.  Read more
