GymCats hope teamwork and bonding lead to success

Arizona gymnastics is ranked No. 27 in the country on floor exercise, but the GymCats are much more than a ranking when it comes to their floor routines. During each routine, the Arizona gymnasts standing on the side of the mat mimic the choreography performed by the gymnast on the mat, bringing a whole new meaning to the word teamwork. Read more

GymCats drop meet against No. 5 Utah

In what was the highest scoring meet of the season for both teams, No. 18 Arizona gymnastics lost to the No. 5 Utah Utes 197.850-196.375 behind many career highs for the Wildcats. Utah’s score tied the highest in the nation with No. 1 Oklahoma, and the Wildcats countered with the highest score against the Utes this season. Read more

GymCat freshmen take charge of team

This was supposed to be the year for Arizona gymnastics. Returning to the team were experienced athletes, four of whom were seniors. That is, until injuries started to occur during the fall season. Four meets into the season, senior Amber Wobma, senior Kristin Klarenbach and redshirt junior Danielle Buchanan have not even touched the mat to compete. GymCats upset No. 18 Washington in Seattle

Arizona gymnastics defeated the No. 18 Washington Huskies 196.050-195.950 on Saturday at the Alaska Airlines Arena in Seattle, Wash. It was the road victory that the No. 22 Wildcats needed to jump-start their season, especially after already losing to a pair of top-25 teams on the road. Read more

The No. 22 Arizona women’s gymnastics team earned first place at its first home meet of the regular season in McKale Center on Friday in what coach Bill Ryden called a “learning experience” for the team. Read more

Trio of GymCats frosh learn ropes from elders

Building on an already stacked Arizona women’s gymnastics team is difficult, but freshmen Madison Cindric, Victoria Ortiz and Kennady Schneider bring a new perspective to the table, and UA coaches are confident in the progress they have made thus far. Read more
