Red face paint, loud cheers and unique stunts that put you on the edge of your seats at sporting events. Sound oddly familiar? Arizona Cheer is and always has been an integral part of Arizona Athletics and our local Tucson community. Despite the fact that our cheerleaders spend the majority of a sporting game on the sidelines screaming their voices out, it is no doubt that they can be credited with helping our sporting teams have so much success. The UA Synchronized Swimming Team is a club sport on campus consisting of nine girls. This past season, they were the national club team champs, finishing with the highest point total at the U.S. Senior National Championships, held in Oro Valley. Read more

Katrina Konopka may not lace up the track spikes in the spring, or put on the shoulder pads in the fall, but one thing for certain is that she’s fast. The junior swimmer is one of the best freestyle and backstroke swimmers in the country, if not the world, and in three years at Arizona she already has left behind an impressive legacy. Read more

Stanford is No. 2 in the women’s polls and No. 5 in the men’s, and if the Wildcats can out-swim them on Friday, it might be one of the largest upsets in Arizona swimming history. Stanford had four medal-winning Olympians in the Rio de Janeiro Olympics in 2016 for the women, three of whom are still on the roster. Read more
Five Arizona swimmers competed at USA Swimming's second ever College Challenge last weekend at the University of Southern California. The two day meet slated the best men and women swimmers in the Pac-12 against top performers on the U.S. National Team through thirty-six events, each gender swam fourteen individual races and four relays.
